Mamas’ Time Initiative is a community-led respite care service created to give mothers what they rarely receive: time. We offer short, flexible childcare sessions designed to support mums who need a break; whether for rest, appointments, emergencies, or simply to breathe. But Mamas’ Time is more than just a service. It’s a movement rooted in prevention and protection.

✨ Our Mission
To prevent crisis before it begins, by protecting the mental health and wellbeing of mothers, and safeguarding the emotional and physical safety of children.
Because “Prevention and protection is everything.”

💡 Why It Matters
The average cost of full-time childcare in the UK consumes up to 75% of a household’s income.
Studies show mums have an average of just 17 minutes a day to themselves.
Burnout, isolation, and silent suffering are too common, often leading to long-term mental health challenges.
Without support, mums can’t pour from empty cups. And when mums struggle, the ripple effect touches entire families.
We believe solitude is a necessity, not a luxury. Every mother deserves regular moments of rest, reflection, and reconnection.

🌱 Our Model
We’re building care hubs that not only offer short-term childcare but also integrate on-site self-care options, such as:
Massage therapy
Nap/rest space
Quiet zones for journaling or meditation
Light coaching and emotional support
Mothers can choose how to use their time: recharge physically, emotionally, or spiritually – without guilt, pressure or stigma.

🤝 Who We Serve & Partner With
We support working mothers, single mums, carers and families on low incomes. We also work with businesses to create pop-up workplace childcare solutions, and local venues who can donate safe space for temporary care pods.

🌍 The Bigger Picture
Mamas’ Time exists to tackle poverty at the root by giving mothers real choice, access, and ownership of their time and the opportunity to become service providers themselves through our “For Mums, By Mums network”
